Martin Samuelsen
Where does this kid fit in for us? Looked really useful in pre-season and was hoping he'd make a break through, but we've signed a lot of players in his spot. Will he get game in the cups? Loan spell required perhaps?

Didn't help that we bombed out of the cups early.

Worth pointing out that our current boss appears to have even less faith in youth than the fat man did.
At least Burke got 6 or 7 games a few years back, Oxford got a game and a half at the start of last year

More concerned that Oxford, Burke and Brown aren't playing week in week out.

Re: Martin Samuelsen
At least Johnny Ayris made a couple of half decent appearances for us (if my memory serves me right).
Don't believe Samuelson will

Re: Martin Samuelsen
Said it before and will say it again, Samuelson, like Martinez, Fletcher etc, are not bought to be first team players, they are signed to be sold onto a Championship club for profit.

It was the red sneakers that did it for me.

Martin Samuelsen on Twitter.......

"Just had a really uncomfortable dinner. Creepy fucker next to me kept eyeing me up and down like I was a schoolboy."

You don't have to be big and bulky to have strength on the ball, you have to be clever to protect it and draw fouls when needed. Lanzini is a prime example.

Do you think that's why Coutinho has struggled so much in the Premier League, Sir Alf?

Sir Alf 10:31 Mon Feb 13
Re: Martin Samuelsen
Needs some good dinners and lots of time in the gym to make it I reckon. Great having skill but you need to have strength on the ball in equal measure. Unlikely to make it. The new Johnny Ayris who I played against so that does not bode well for his future :-(

Flopped at Blackburn and now Peterborough

Wont make it with us.

Browne and Oxford both unused subs this weekend too, disappointing

De Bruyne didn't get 'let go' by Chelsea, they sold him for a big profit after new Mourinho (new manager) couldn't offer him a starting place.

there;s nothing wrong witgh his technique as such. He's just a show pony it seems, all flicks and tricks, zero end result

Better to improve your technique with first class coaching instead of 2nd rate experience and 2nd rate coaching

Re: Martin Samuelsen
Watched him play a few ages and he was completely anonymous. Posh fan next to me said he'd been a complete waste of space this loan spell.

Will never make it at the top level IMO. Would be surprised if he even makes it at championship level.

When I've caught the highlights of his games for his loan clubs, he's looked impressive.

And yet he's often dropped?

Perplexing

Re: Martin Samuelsen
Still plenty of time to develop. De Bruyne got let go by Chelsea, he hasn't turned out bad.

Re: Martin Samuelsen
The same story as all his other loans this time at Peterborough

Started the first few games then dropped to the bench
